An Evening with James Anderson

‘Last Thursday the Foundation presented ‘An Evening With James Anderson’ in the 1864 Suite. A packed room enjoyed a superb three course dinner followed by a big screen video showing many of Jimmy’s England wickets. Then the Foundation’s Peter Young interviewed Jimmy. The questions were many and varied and Jimmy didn’t hesitate to give frank and honest answers. The audience were spellbound and at the conclusion Jimmy received a standing ovation.

Next up was comedy impressionist Les Gibson who had been a sensation on Britain’s Got Talent and reached the final – only to be beaten by a dog!
Les brought the house down with his sporting and showbiz impressions, especially his version of Titanic starring the cast of Corrie.

During the evening the guests were told all about the Foundation and the inspiring and engaging project, programmes and events the team provides within the community. We also had lots of people sign up to be ‘Friends of the Foundation’ giving us their support for the work we do.

This really was a brilliant evening and our thanks go to Jimmy Anderson & Luke Sutton, Les Gibson & a special thanks to our sponsors Big Bird Sports who provided everybody with a ‘goodie bag’ filled with useful items.
Thanks also go to everyone who supported this event and we sincerely hope you had a fabulous time. Watch out for the next Friends of the Foundation dinner which will be announced shortly’
