Trafford LIVE, Celebrating Your Community

Join us at Trafford Town Hall on Saturday October 1st as the Trafford Partnership hosts a spectacular festival of family fun activities.

The Trafford LIVE festival celebrates everything that’s great about Trafford. Showcasing our fantastic greenspace, sports, history and culture, there will be a little bit of everything for the young and old to enjoy.  The event will also recognise the invaluable contribution local voluntary and community groups make to Trafford. The free event is open for all to attend, and throughout the day guests can experience a host of events, activities and displays provided by some of Trafford’s best loved institutions, with food and drink available to purchase throughout the day.

Prepare to get active! Manchester United Foundation, Lancashire Cricket Foundation and Trafford Leisure Trust will be running a range of family sport activities to get the whole family moving.  Health and wellbeing advice, including blood pressure checks, will be available on the day to make sure you are fighting fit.

Become a wildlife expert! A range of experts are on hand to help you learn about the benefits and importance of nature and conservation. The National Trust will be running sessions about the benefits and importance of nature and conservation through its Green Academies Project, with Sea Life taking you on an exciting journey to explore the fascinating marine life thriving in our country’s many rock pools. Other stalls include Royal Society for Protection of Birds, City of Trees and Trafford Allotments.

Get Creative! Reveal your inner star with Trafford Youth Trust Village. Organised by Gorse Hill Studios, music and art tents will offer exciting chances for budding performers to release their creativity. Performances from local dance and music groups will also be on offer to entertain you.

For the little ones! Craft activities and story time can be enjoyed, along with LEGOLAND providing giant bins of bricks for children to play with and keep them entertained. Take a seat in one of the emergency vehicles that help make Trafford the safest place in Greater Manchester. And it wouldn’t be a family fun-day without a bouncy castle, free of charge throughout the day.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to tour the Town Hall, learn about their area with a fascinating local history display, take part in our interactive council debate and for those looking to tie the knot; a wedding showcase will be running too.

Executive Councillor for Communities and Partnerships, John Lamb, said “The Trafford LIVE event is a fantastic opportunity for local residents from across the borough and further afield, to visit the town hall, celebrate the work that takes place within our communities and immerse themselves in its spectacular history and heritage. The range of fascinating and exciting displays that will be running throughout the day look set to offer an enjoyable and informative day for all the family.  I hope that all who attend on the day are able to get a real taste of the great opportunities our borough has to offer”

Running from 11am-4pm and with free parking available at Lancashire County Cricket Club stadium on Talbot Road, Trafford LIVE aims to bring together local organisations and the community to ensure that Trafford is a place where our residents achieve their aspirations, and our communities are thriving.
