Thank you to Alfold CC in supporting the LCCC Foundation
Alfold CC captain Justin Haygarth is shown presenting a cheque for £521 to Ashley Giles, the proceeds of a raffle held recently at Alfold CC's league finals day and is to be donated to support the LCCC Foundation Disability Table Cricket Programme.
Sandy Mitchell, Head of Community Development at the LCCC Foundation said 'The money raised and donated by Alfold CC will provide young people with learning difficulties and disabilities from schools across the North West with coaching and competition opportunities. The LCCC Foundation Disability Table Cricket Programme sees school teams participating in three weeks of Table Cricket Coaching, delivered by qualified coaches, followed by a competition and engages young people who would otherwise have little or no contact with the sport. Through the provision of teacher training and the inclusion of LCCC player appearances the project aims to inspire the pupils and create capacity within the school to help build on the experience the project provides enabling them to continue to participate in the sport. Alfold CC provide fantastic support to the LCCC Foundation and we are proud of the partnership we have in place'.
Alfold is situated near Cranleigh in Surrey and has longstanding connections with LCCC and when one of their clubs stalwarts , David Tilley , originally from Westhoughton , died two years ago the club had a stone placed on the Red Rose Wall in his memory. If there are any Red Roses living or studying in the area a warm welcome is guaranteed at our club.
