The Foundation’s pre-employment training course has just successfully completed its 4th Big Hit Programme with the headline employers being McDonalds and Hotel Football.  Special guests this time were Trafford Council’s Leader Sean Anstee and Hotel Football Co-owner Gary Neville. Also incorporated into the final day of the programme was Trafford Council’s signing of the Trafford Pledge with local employers committing to offer employment support to local people.

Young unemployed learners from Trafford took part in a 2 week intensive course to develop their employability skills and provided the participants, identified through Job Centre Plus, with a range of qualifications, skills and work experience before putting them in front of real employers with real job vacancies on the final day.

LCCC Foundation is working in partnership with Trafford College, Job Centre Plus, Trafford Council and the National Careers Service on the project using the power of cricket and the draw of Lancashire County Cricket Club to help develop teamwork, career planning, communication and presentation skills through a series of fun and engaging activities designed to improve each participant’s self-awareness, self-confidence and self-esteem.
