LCCC Foundation Gala Dinner
TOM SMITH was named as Lancashire County Cricket Club’s Player of the Year during Saturday night’s LCCC Foundation Gala Dinner at Emirates Old Trafford.
The all-rounder, who took 54 wickets and scored 773 runs last term in the LV= County Championship was the unanimous choice to win the accolade. He was also named as the Thwaites Wainwright Championship Player of the Year.

The evening also celebrated the success of the LCCC Women’s team who were promoted to Division One. England Women’s international player, Kate Cross was named Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for the Lancashire Women’s team. The Champagne Moment for the Women’s team went to Nat Brown for her 112* v Cheshire Women’s team.
Whilst the event celebrated the achievements of both the LCCC men’s and women’s teams and some key individual performances it was also about raising funds to support the work of the LCCC Foundation in the local community. Supported by LCCC, MCL Create and Althams Butchers the event attracted over 500 guests who were all treated to an evening of glamour and sophistication as well as top quality entertainment provided by Phunk Phenomina and Twisted Tubes.
A total of £13,000 was raised on the night with all funds going directly to support the work the LCCC Foundation does in delivering health, education, cricket development and social inclusion projects, programmes and events to help inspire local communities through cricket.
