Wood Street Mission Visit

Staff from the LCCC Foundation and LCCC visited the Wood Street Mission in Manchester last Thursday, to help the charity put together their festive food hampers and gift parcels for families living in poverty in Manchester and Salford. Staff were joined by the local media including ITV:  http://www.itv.com/news/granada/story/2012-12-09/lancashire-cricketers-help-families-at-christmas/

Last Christmas the project distributed new toys to over 3,700 local children, all of whom are affected by poverty. Each family received a large hamper full of a range of everyday foods and treats to help the whole family throughout the Christmas period. This year the charity is expected to help even more local people.

Everyone got stuck in by helping to separate the donated toys and food to ensure that appropriate hampers were given to the different aged girls and boys that the project supports.
