Lancashire County Cricket Club are working with the LCCC Foundation and Trafford Council to help promote the national Stoptober campaign. Running throughout the month of October the campaign is designed to encourage people to stop smoking.

Health and fitness is a key component of a modern day cricketer and as a professional sports club LCCC are delighted to be supporting such a high profile health campaign. This is just another example of how LCCC, by working through the LCCC Foundation, are looking to inspire local communities through cricket. The range of health, education, cricket development and social inclusion projects and programmes delivered by the Foundation as well as the partnership forged with Trafford Council indicates the commitment the Club has to engaging and supporting the local community.

Sandy Mitchell, Head of Community Development for the LCCC Foundation said 'If we can help just one person to think about stopping smoking by using the first team players as role models in promoting this national, high profile campaign then it has been worth it.'
