LCCC Foundation goes ‘batty’ in support of Stretford High School

Lancashire fast bowler Nathan Buck was on hand to present pupils from Stretford High School with ten new bats as part of the LCCC Foundation’s Community Club Cricket Bat Donation Scheme.

The school’s Year 7 cricket team were invited to the Trafford Cricket Centre at Emirates Old Trafford to experience a number of skills and drills delivered by the centre’s expert coaching team.

Buck also gave some advice to the youngster on how to bowl as well as taking part in a question and answer session with the players.

The brand new cricket bats have been donated to help the School to upgrade its stock of training equipment and cater for the growing number of new participants.

Sandy Mitchell, Head of Community Development for the LCCC Foundation said “We are delighted to be providing bats to Stretford High School to support their junior provision.

Cricket bats are expensive bits of kit and anything we can do to help remove that barrier and encourage more young people to take up or stick with the sport is truly worth doing.”

The LCCC Foundation is the charity and community arm of LCCC.
