Local Fire Station To Host Knockout Event at Emirates Old Trafford
Moss Side Fire Station Boxing Club has transformed the lives of hundreds of young people since it was formed by three local firefighters in 2008.
The evening will contain a number of bouts featuring boxers from the club plus a three-course meal in the sublime surroundings of The Point.
Tickets for the event are still available and are priced at £50.00 per person or £450 for a table of ten. Please contact Nigel Travis from Greater Manchester Fire Service via email email@example.com for further information.
Watch Manager Nigel Travis, who helped set up the club, said: “We have some very talented young boxers at the club but it’s run by volunteers so it’s vital we raise money to help us develop these youngsters even further and help us improve the life prospects of many more people who come through our doors.
“Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service’s firefighters do more than just fight fires – we save people in many different ways by providing opportunities such as the boxing club for people at a crucial stage in their lives.
“We chose Emirates Old Trafford as our venue for our event because it’s near to the gym and many of our members are from the areas around Lancashire County Cricket Club, Old Trafford, Whalley Range, Chorlton and Hulme.
“We are looking at striking up some partnerships working with LCCC to better engage with local residents and give them a positive future to strive for.
“We’re really excited about our first fundraising dinner at such at an inspiring venue and I would like to thank everyone who has supported us.”
Interim Head of Sales at Emirates Old Trafford, Michele Somers, added: “We are delighted to welcome Moss Side Fire Station for their first annual dinner in The Point and wish them every success with their fundraising.
