We want to build on the success of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and particularly on the role that Trafford played whilst hosting the Olympic football at Old Trafford & Partington and Paralympic Judo at G H Carnell Leisure Centre. We want to provide a lasting legacy for the whole of the borough to be a driver for continuous improvement in sport; the economy; community engagement and increased physical activity.
The Trafford Strategic Sport and Physical Activity Partnership is an established Partnership which forms an integral part of the Trafford Partnership – a strong public / private sector partnership with a framework to coordinate activity and deliver change. The Trafford Strategic Sport and Physical Activity Partnership is working to deliver an ambitious action plan based on the Partnership’s Framework.
Trafford Council is seeking a dynamic individual to deliver on the outcomes of the Partnership’s action plan and framework alongside the Council’s Sports and Leisure Strategy.
We are now looking for a Sport Relationship Manager to lead on the work of the partnership with local partners, sporting organisations, businesses and communities to drive forward this agenda.
Based within the Transformation and Resources Directorate within the Partnerships and Communities Service, you will work with the Strategic Sport and Physical Activity Partnership to deliver our vision of More people, More active, More often.
You will have experience in sport management, an ability to develop sustainable relationships with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, excellent PR and communication skills and a real passion for improving sporting and physical activity opportunities.
With significant experience of working effectively with National Governing Bodies and diverse partners, you will maximise opportunities for collaborative working and lever in external grant funding.
