Disability Table Cricket League

The LCCC Foundation, the club’s own charity, is currently raising money to support a Disability Table Cricket League, which provides an opportunity for youngsters with severe physical or learning disabilities to play competitive cricket.
Earlier this year we ran table cricket coaching sessions for over 50 children from specialist schools including; Lisburne School, Piper Hill School, The Birches and New Bridge.
Following the success of the pilot programme, we are now hoping to set up a league that will allow more children to access cricket at the state of the art Indoor Cricket Centre based at Old Trafford. At the England v South Africa match tonight, the LCCC Ambassadors and supporters, including Phil Neville, Sgt Rick Clement, Warren Hegg and Alex Winters, will be on the pitch to ask fans to donate a £1 or more each, so that the dream can become a reality.

Phil Neville said: “As an Ambassador for the charity, we regularly see the great work they put in to help those involved and can’t encourage people enough to get behind them.”
The initiative is using the Vodafone Just Text Giving Service to raise money as it is free for mobile phone users to text and 100% of the donation will go to the LCCC Foundation. Those who are attending the game will also have the chance to win one of four pairs of hospitality tickets to the Ashes in 2013.
If you would like to support the cause, please donate by texting as much as you can. For example: 'LCCC11 £1’ to 70070.
