Temple Primary has fun with numbers
Year 6 girls from Temple Primary School in Cheetham Hill spent a fun filled day taking part in a ‘Lanky’s Numeracy Club’ session from our Education Without Boundaries programme. Their day was filled with lots of interactive iPad numeracy challenges including playing Lancashire top trumps and they learnt some mathematics via Lancashire
Women’s cricket data. Jasmine Titmuss, former England Academy player and current Lancashire Women’s captain also popped by for a special Q&A where the class asked her some great questions.
The class rounded up the day by playing some Cricket in the Indoor Cricket Centre and children left with a goodie bag having had a great day. Feedback from pupils was that: ‘ It was the best day ever and I improved my maths skills’ and ‘I liked how the activities were fun and it helped you learn a lot about maths.’
Class teacher Mrs Ali said ‘The day was well organised and structured, the practical side was very enjoyable. The teacher was at ease with the children and was very helpful.’
The Foundation are looking forward to welcoming the school back next week to participate in the Literacy session.
