World Record Breakers
On the 24th June the LCCC Foundation hosted a World Record Breakfast attempt at The Point, in partnership with Trafford Council, Kellogs, Tesco, MUFC Foundation, LCCC, Salford City Reds and Trafford Sport.
The morning kick started with the Olympic Torch Relay passing through Old Trafford and the corner of our very own Lancashire County Cricket Club. The crowds who came to support the Torch Bearers were then invited into the stadium to take part in various free activities that were hosted by charities and community groups, which included cricket, football, rugby league and dance.
Whilst hundreds of people took part in the free sports, over a 1,000 local children and families were invited into The Point to take part in a World Record Breakfast attempt. It was a fantastic morning with Sir Bobby Charlton and his Olympic Torch making an
appearance with CBBC present Alex Winters hosting the event.
Last but by no means least a group of lively mascots took part in a race around the LCCC pitch, which included: Lanky, Fred The Red, Coco and Constable Cub.
