Sporting Foundations 4 Life


Working with young people to develop a needs-led, multisport (centred around cricket and rugby league) community engagement programme, to increase the once-a-week participation of 11-25 year-olds, initially in Salford and Trafford.  

Sporting Foundations for Life (SF4L) is a joint project between the LCCC Foundation (LCCCF), Salford Red Devils Foundation (SRDF), the five Trafford area Community Panels and City West Housing Trust to deliver a programme of sporting activity across the communities of the 2 Boroughs, capitalising on the legacy of the Ashes Test Match and Rugby League World Cup in 2013.


Project Activators at LCCCF and SRDF will also recruit local volunteer Community Champions and train them up to develop, deliver and maintain these programmes.  Where there is a need, Central Venue Leagues in specific sports which will be created to increase levels of sports participation.
