Sandy joined the LCCC Foundation as Head of Community Development in February 2013 having spent the majority of the previous 10 years working in variety of roles for County Durham Sport in the North East of England. Sandy brings with him a strong background in partnership working as well as significant experience of leading high performing teams in the development and implementation of a wide range of sport, physical activity and community development projects, programmes and events. When not working Sandy spends his spare time ferrying his 3 daughters to various sporting activities and loves to keep active by walking his dog and running up and down the (steep!!!) hills of Saddleworth where he lives. He is also an active member of the Saddleworth Village Olympics, helping to provide sporting opportunities for the young people of the area.

Ian Seddon

Education Manager

Ian joined the LCCC Foundation as Education Manager in September 2012 after many years of teaching Physical Education and Sport in both schools and colleges. Ian organises lots of inspirational educational opportunities at Emirates Old Trafford for both primary and secondary school children. Outside of work Ian’s spare time is usually spent helping his son to fulfil his busy social and sporting diary. Ian is also a season ticket holder at Man City.

Gary Porter

Promotions Manager

Gary is the Promotions Manager for the Lottery Team within the Foundation, he leads on all the Lottery Team events and the prize draws which take place at each cricket game. Gary went from pitch to outfield when he joined the Club in 1994, as his previous role was with Bolton Wanderers Football Club. Gary still follows Bolton and is a season ticket holder. In his spare time he enjoys playing five a side football and spending time with his family.

Maggie Parkinson

Maggie Parkinson

Business Support Officer

Maggie joined the Foundation in Feb 2013 on a 12 Month Maternity cover contract and is still here nearly 3 years later!! She was previously working for Bupa for 20 years as a PA to department heads. After taking redundancy, Maggie took a career break for 3 years to care in the community, which she found challenging yet very rewarding. Maggie’s role is the administration of the Friends of the Foundation Lottery, dealing with Charity requests and the business support for the team including the social media aspects of the department. Maggie is married with 2 children enjoys spending her spare time (what’s that?!) going to concerts and shows.

Did you know… Maggie has met and had dinner with one of Elvis Presley’s Bodyguards Sonny West.

Gordon has worked for the Lottery Team since 2007 and hails from sunny Blackpool with a history of working in retail and the charity sector. Gordon’s role in the Lottery Team is to promote and attract new members to the Lancashire Line Scheme.

Did you know… Gordon is almost Royal! He was once invited for Afternoon Tea at Arundel Castle by the Duke and Duchess of Norfolk.

Amanda Worley

Assistant to the Promotions Manager

After being invited for an interview on the first day of the England v India Test Match in 1990, Amanda was offered the job and never left! She has worked in various departments before joining up with Gary Porter to help launch the Lancashire Line Weekly Draw in 1994. As well as the day to day running of the Weekly Draw, Amanda’s role involves the administration of the Lottery Team’s various other activities including Match Day Draw’s, Summer & Christmas Draw’s plus Sporting Dinners and Cricket Lunches. Amanda’s two children Jake and Ava keep her busy in her spare time.

Did you know… Amanda likes to mingle with the famous, she was once presented with some flowers by Sir Alex Ferguson and has had dinner with John Major.

Accounts Administrator

Karen joined the cricket club in 1990 as part of the accounts team. This included many various roles at the cricket ground, even working on admission turnstiles at busy match days. After 12 years in the accounts department joined the lottery team where she continues in an accounting role. Before working at the cricket club worked in retail and for the Inland Revenue. Karen is married and has two children and likes to spend any spare time with her family.

Did you know… Karen’s daughter, as a baby, appeared in the club’s souvenir shop brochure, modelled baby clothes…..

Stan joined the Lottery Team in April 2014 as a Support Worker. Stan’s role changed and he is now a collector for our Lottery team. Stan enjoys golf and football, is married with two children and has a grandson.

Did you know… Stan’s late uncle Ken Pegg was reserve goalkeeper for Manchester United in 1948.

Bev works as a Collector for the Lancashire Line Scheme in the Lottery Team. Bev had her own business until 2010 where she was a sports field construction and drainage design consultant. Her company constructed and drained hundreds of football pitches and golf courses.

Did you know... Her partner Nigel Wood played for LCCC when he was younger.


Howard Shore

Senior Project Activator

Howard joined in May 2014 to lead on the Foundation’s community cohesion project, Sporting Foundations for Life. Having worked for over 14 years in physical education and school sport development in Salford and Trafford, he brought with him a wealth of local, regional and national contacts and knowledge. As a qualified secondary science teacher he’s also experienced the trials and tribulations of working with young people on a daily basis. He’s married and, although he has no children, being Chairman of and player for Old Mancunians AFC means he is used to dealing with grown men acting as babies and grumbling teenagers. He manages to pack some non-sport related activity into his life at times, including supporting Everton.

Did you know… if he had been born 3 days later he’d have been named David after the patron saint of his home country, Wales. With his dad also with that name, a future career in music may have been more fitting for him as DJ the DJ!

Rachael Evans

Multi Sport Leader

Rachael is a new member to the team joining the foundation this year, working for sf4l as a multi sports leader. Her role is to get more 14-25 year olds engaged in sport or physical activity. Before coming here Rachael lived and worked for 8 months as a soccer coach in the Gold Coast Australia, also out there she played for the local football team which reached the league final, in her spare time she did have time to travel and spent new year’s eve in Sydney. In her spare time Rachael play and coach for Stockport County Ladies football club. She has been at the club for 10 years playing for the different levels, working her way up to the 1st team before moving to Australia. She still plays within the club. Rachael has also coached in the girls section for the past 5 years working with the u10’s and still working with the same group today splitting them into two teams u13’s and u15’s.

Did you know... In 1999 Rachael witnessed the launch of the shuttle Columbia which had the first female commander Eileen Collins. It disintegrated in 2003.

Kay initially joined Lancashire County Cricket Club in 2004 in the accounts team. After a few years she decided she had a love for working with children rather than figures and was given the opportunity to work within the Foundation Kay now runs the Foundation’s Inclusive Arts Group which has been a great success and a lot of fun for those involved, a project that runs throughout the season teaching healthy lifestyles and lots of other different sessions when available The Foundation has helped Kay gain new qualifications and she looks forward to working on more exciting projects in the future.

Did you know… Kay used to have piano lessons and reached Grade 4 and got distinctions at every level and also played at the Royal Northern College and Cheethams School of music.

Activity Leader and Foundation Young Ambassador

Natasha was recruited as the Foundations Young Ambassador and our first ever Apprentice in August 2012. Her role in the Foundation is to help teach different sports within local schools in the community to encourage children to get involved in volunteering and to lead healthier lifestyles. Natasha has also worked with the Lancashire Cricket Board coaches learning how to teach and coach cricket and disability cricket. Natasha also teaches other sports including Thai-boxing as she is also a World Champion in this sport.

Did you know… Natasha has 3 horses called Heather, Misty and Winston and competes in Dressage in her spare time.

Jayne Leggat

Jayne Leggat

Events and Fundraising Manger

Jayne joined the LCCC Foundation in May 2014 and has worked in various roles in the charity sector, including Cancer Research UK and Breakthrough Breast Cancer. Jayne organised the first ever Cancer Research UK evening walking marathon, Shine in 2010 along with many of the North West Race for Life events, raising over £3.5m in her 8 years at the charities. Cricket has also been part of her working life, having previously worked with former LCCC player, Neil Fairbrother whilst working for Andrew Fintoff’s Children’s Charity. Before joining the charity sector, Jayne managed pubs and restaurants starting her hospitality career at Boddingtons Brewery in Manchester city centre.
